With a new baby, in a new house, in a new province, it’s been a bit of a challenge settling into a routine that fits for us. But I’m really feeling the need to find our own rhythm to our days, and so to that end I am exploring ways to create a pace that is both peaceful and purposeful.
Seasonal Rhythm
Find a selection of books for each season (from our own collection and the library)
Create a nature shelf or display to bring the outdoors in
Buy seasonal food and make seasonal recipes
Weekly Rhythm
Plan and consolidate our trips into town
Bake our own bread
Library day
Trip to the pond
Daily Rhythm
Activities with Arden:
Enjoy music time through singing, dancing, or playing instruments
Explore the great outdoors in our own backyard

Amber for teething

Arden now has one tooth! It arrived 2 weeks ago, and I think another one may be on the way soon. While the teething didn't seem to make her too miserable overall, there were times I could tell she was just not herself. Some time ago, I learned that amber has traditionally been used as a natural remedy for teething. I had heard about teething necklaces through another blog, and my friend Aimee just showed me this Canadian website which sells amber and hazelwood necklaces. I ordered an amber necklace for Arden, which hopefully will arrive in PEI just as we arrive back home!
Here is the company's website: hazelaid.com
And here is the necklace we ordered: Products (We chose "Milk and Butter")

Cloud 9
Arden spent a lot of her time in her first couple months in her "cloud." It was a handy place to put her during the day, since the bassinet was upstairs. She loved napping, looking out the window and just hanging out.
