~ Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~
Brought to you by Like Mother, Like Daughter
Yesterday was a day when things just seemed to hum along smoothly at home. I love days like that!
{pretty}
We are still discovering the various pretty plants and flowers that grow on the property. We took a walk in the morning to see what was blooming this week.
Lilies beside the old shed |
These little things were growing out of the brush heap in the back forty. What are they? |
{happy}
The front porch is a happy place these days! Arden is always asking to go out on the "porridge!"
{funny}
It's funny how much enjoyment a little girl can get out of a jug of water and a tea set!
The tea set was one from my own girlhood! |
This little creamer is used by Arden to water the geraniums and the lawn! |
{real}
I was real proud of myself for making my own homemade tomato soup for the first time! Tomato soup has always been one of my favourites, but I was looking for an alternative to the processed canned kind. This was delicious and quite easy. I made it in the blender with a can of diced tomatoes, some leftover new potatoes from the previous night's dinner, the last couple carrots in the fridge that I steamed up, various spices, and milk to make it creamy. I will definitely be making this again!
That's all for this week - happy summer days to everyone!

Your tomato soup looks yummy! And I think I had the same tea set as a girl :)
ReplyDeleteThe day lilies are beautiful and the porch looks like a wonderful place to sit and read a book. (=

What an inviting porch!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture pouring "tea" - so sweet.
Love the sweet photos of your girl - and her name! I've always loved the name Arden.
ReplyDeleteYour front porch is so spacious and gracious - just right.
I love your porch! And those little things "growing out of the brush heap in the back forty" are called Jewelweed, I believe. It is supposed to be a remedy for poison ivy among other things. :)
