Snap Joy :: 2

Snap Joy is simply capturing an everyday moment of delight.

We spent an afternoon at the beach this week with Poppa and Grandma Jill. It was one of those sparkly blue afternoons, not too hot, and perfect for the warm shallow water of low tide on the south shore. The whole family was in the water together. I love how everything is so "big" and wonderful to the littlest among us.

Here is this weeks' snap:

{pretty, happy, funny, real} on August 8

~ Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~

More outdoor pictures this week!

The kids are really enjoying the backyard this summer. Thanks to generous neighbours, we have a little playhouse set up close to the house. It's so fun for both of them! (Winnie-the-Pooh likes to visit too, though he's afraid to go in the door in case he gets stuck on his way out. Too much honey, and all that.)

Getting the hang of gliding

They are also growing like weeds!

When Arden gets her bike out, Jack gets the wheelbarrow out!

I think he's making motorbike noises here.

Micah's homemade incubator!

{pretty, happy, funny, real} Fiddle Fest Edition

~ Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~
Brought to you by Like Mother, Like Daughter

Summer is busy! Between chickens and company and the camper, we've had a lot on the go. Here are a few shapshots of our first weekend out with our "vintage" camper at Fiddle Fest. It was our first family camping trip, and despite a few mistakes that newbies make (we forgot the coffee mugs and had to drink our first morning coffee out of paper bowls!), the weekend was a rousing success.

Our own ray of sunshine

This girl loved all the fiddle music -  "I danced and danced!"

When tired kids needed a break in the camper, the back of the truck was a great viewing spot for the stage.

The whole family!

Don't you love the turquoise sink?

Eggs and bacon, a la tailgate.

Hot afternoon nap

Yes, a grand time was had by all.

I hope you are all enjoying summer with your families!

Cousin Fun in Wheatley River!

Has it really been two months since we were all together on PEI? Here are some memories of the cousins having fun together in Wheatley River.

Shucking corn on the kitchen floor!

They decided to have a "nap" in the big bed.

Matching shirts! Too cute!

Having fun on the steps - a little too sunny perhaps?

{pretty, happy, funny, real} summer's end

~ Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~
Brought to you by Like Mother, Like Daughter

This was one of those late summer evenings, an impromptu trip to a half-forgotten provincial park in Bonshaw.

My beautiful children...

{happy}

Arden was quite excited to try out the slide. Once she and Daddy went down together a few times, she quite happily climbed up and slid down herself!

{more happy}

Happy to be Mom!

{funny}

Not sure what shenanigans these two were up to this time.

{real}

Now this is my idea of a real man.

Arden and Jack are blessed to have Micah as their Dad!

{sigh of contentment}
